Cape Carnival is an annual event on January 2nd where the city bursts into colour, music, singing, dancing and parades. The occasion is rooted in the slave history of Cape Town when slaves were allowed only a single day off work in the year and they used the opportunity to celebrate. And so the city does too! To find some matching solid colours try one of the colour ingredients: Chilli Pepper, Hot Pink, Aubergine, Camps Bay, Olive, Lemon, Guinea Fowl.
